Autumn in the Aspens

Gunnison National Forest is home to one of the world's largest Aspen groves with dramatic peaks of the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. We'll start our tour here and explore the forest and mountain scenes working on compositional strategies in this amazing landscape. We'll also explore the San Juans and Uncompahgre National Forest for some of the most scenic mountain landscapes in the Southwest. You'll have the opportunity to photograph grand scenics along with more intimate forest scenes and even explore the macro world.

And we'll also do at least one image review session and share some advanced digital darkroom workflow techniques.

Our first base of operations will be in Crested Butte, Colorado on the edge of the Gunnison National Forest. From there, we'll move on to Ouray, Colorado at the base of the San Juans and the Uncompahgre National Forest. We suggest you book rooms in these locations and we'll provide you with a detailed itinerary so that you can make your reservations.
You’ll need a moderate level of fitness for this photo adventure. Our maximum hiking distance will be 5 miles and likely less as we’ll be surrounded by amazing scenery within short hiking distances. Elevation will be 10,000 feet at times so you’ll need to be able to hike in the thin air of the Rocky Mountains with your camera gear.
90 days or prior to day 1 of tour = Refund of all Dusty Doddridge Photography fees and deposits
60-89 days prior to day 1 of tour = Dusty Doddridge Photography will retain tour deposit
59 days or less prior to day 1 of tour = Dusty Doddridge Photography will retain full tour tuition

Dusty Doddridge Photography also reserves the right to cancel the photo tour or change the tour itinerary for any reason including low enrollment in the tour.
All you need to do is click the Register Here button below and tell us which tour you'd like to attend. We'll e-mail you an invoice that allows you to pay online by credit card. If it's 60 days or less prior to the start of the tour, the full tuition amount will be due in order to complete your registration. Prior to 60 days out, we'll invoice you for a deposit of 30% of the total tuition to hold your spot. We'll then invoice you again for the balance prior to the 60 day point when the full amount is due.
